The Winter Garden

Hi!
I am so excited spring is just around the corner. My mom and I love starting our victory garden every year. Last year we bought a strawberry plant and two sugar snap peas. However, the strawberry plant did not grow strawberries and the sugar snap peas died.
We did plant the sugar snaps along the fence and planted the strawberry plant by the corner of the garden.
I think the strawberries will come back again this year. Do you have any tips to share so we get strawberries this year? And do you know what might have happened to our sugar snap peas?
