Paris House Story Empty Paris House Story

Post  Amanda Wed Feb 03, 2010 3:46 pm

Hi! I love old homes and I was wondering about yours. What shape was it in when you bought it? Did you do many renovations? I am looking to buy an older home and I was wondering if you had and suggestions. Anything to look for or to avoid? What do you love about your home and do you have any dislikes about living in an older house? My family wants to talk me out of it and said Im sure to find a money pit but there is just a charm about those older homes you cannot recreate with a new build.

Thanks!
Amanda

Paris House Story Empty Living in an Older Home

Post  Bunny Wed Aug 18, 2010 7:05 pm

Hi,
first of all sorry it took me so long to answer your question. I just saw it today??? I love everything about living in an older home. I have a lot of patience and enjoy the restoration process very much. I would recommend you have someone go through any older/historic home and check it out thoroughly to make sure it isn't a money pit! Be patient and research older homes, take historic house tours, many towns offer historic house tours during Christmas time. You can get great ideas from the other home owners. I can't imagine living in a new 'cookie cutter' home, as I love unique one of a kind homes. I say follow your dreams, its your life after all...Good Luck
